New Delhi: The BJP on Wednesday pounded on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his "we are fighting the BJP, the RSS and the Indian State" with party chief JP Nadda claiming that the remarks unravels its rival's "ugly truth" but people of India will reject their "rotten ideology".
Nadda claimed on 'X' that it was "no secret" that Rahul and his "ecosystem" have close links with urban naxals and the Deep State who want to "defame, demean and discredit" India and his repeated actions have strengthened this belief.
"Hidden no more, Congress’ ugly truth now stands exposed by their own leader. I 'compliment' Mr. Rahul Gandhi for saying clearly what the nation knows- that he is fighting the Indian state...Everything he has done or said has been in the direction of breaking India and dividing our society," he said.
"Congress has a history of encouraging all those forces who want a weak India. Their greed for power meant compromising the nation’s integrity and betraying the trust of the people. But, the people of India are wise. They have decided that they will always reject Mr. Rahul Gandhi and his rotten ideology," Nadda added.
The BJP president's attack came as Rahul told a function where Congress' new headquarters was inaugurated, "do not think that we are fighting a fair fight. There is no fairness in this. If you believe that we are fighting a political organisation called the BJP, a political organisation called the RSS, you haven't understood what is going on. The BJP and RSS have captured every single institution of our country. We are now fighting the BJP, the RSS and the Indian State itself."
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also attacked the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha saying, "so Congress and Rahul Gandhi, what for are you carrying a copy of the constitution in your hand?"
BJP IT department head Amit Malviya said, "Rahul Gandhi has now declared an open war against the Indian State itself. This is straight out of George Soros’s playbook."
Addressing a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia alleged that an “anti-national” statement has been made by the “irresponsible” LoP, which has hurt the sentiments of people.
“India deserves a more responsible, faithful Leader of Opposition but it is a misfortune that we have a part-time, irresponsible and immature Leader of Opposition in Rahul Gandhi, who also happens to be guided by forces like George Soros and others inimical to the integrity of our country,” he added.
