The direction came after a bench of justices Aftab Alam and R M Lodha disposed the public interest litigation filed by former chief election commissioner J M Lyngdoh and others.
The court took note of the fact that the Delhi police had already filed the charge sheet in the case pertaining to alleged bribing of three BJP MPs before the trust vote by UPA government.

“The objective has been achieved. Everything should be left to concerned criminal court which is hearing the case. We were on minor aspect. Who were involved and, in what manner and if further investigation was required are to be decided by the concerned (trial) court,” the Bench said.

During the hearing, the petitioners insisted that the court should keep the matter pending since the police have still not found out the source of money and who were the beneficiaries of the scam.
