A special CBI court on Tuesday awarded two years in prison to a Deputy Inspector General of CRPF and his junior colleague for accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a supplier of goods for the force, DHNS reports from Chennai.

P Nagarajan, DIG, Group Centre, Avadi and Sub Inspector Johnson Devakumar received Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 from Vijaya Khanna of Madhur Enterprises Private Limited in Kanpur for expediting the payment of bills for the latter.

Special Judge Murugan awarded the punishment to Nagarajan, Johnson and Khanna after hearing arguments of public prosecutor for CBI, Shivananda Cerla.
