The National Entrance-cum-Eligibility Test for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses will be held on August 1 in pen and paper mode in 11 languages.

The National Testing Agency, which conducts the NEET-UG, will soon update the information bulletin on syllabus, eligibility norms and dates for submission of application forms soon.

The NTA also has shelved plans to conduct the Test this year online and opted for the traditional pen and paper mode.

Earlier, the agency was planning to conduct NEET online as it conducts the JEE exams for admissions to engineering courses.

The exam will also be held once a year, putting in cold storage plans to hold the exam twice every year.

Last year, the NEET-UG had to be postponed twice before being held in September owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
