New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the new building of the Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Situated at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, the five-storeyed building will be the party’s third building in the area. The first two are part of the party’s central unit.
At the inauguration, PM Modi spoke to the party’s workers about the GST reforms and said that they must ensure that people reap the benefits of the reforms by reaching out to shoppers and shopkeepers alike. In states where the BJP is not in power, the workers must ensure that the benefits are reaching the people, he added.
The foundation of the building was done in June 2023 by president JP Nadda, who was present at the inauguration.
The BJP came to power in the state in February this year, 27 years after Sushma Swaraj was the party’s CM.
“BJP’s connection with Delhi goes back to the Jana Sangh days and is built on trust and commitment to the city,” the prime minister said.
Nadda said that the office will be the 618th party office.
Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said that the office was built solely on donations from people.
