The details surrounding the alleged suicide of a Delhi-based cafe owner has begun coming out even as the family members of the deceased have pointed fingers at the estranged wife of the businessman for pushing him towards his death.

Now, a purported CCTV video has also emerged which shows the deceased, Puneet Khurana, and his estranged wife Manika Pahwa having a conversation where the latter accuses the businessman of 'ruining her life', a report by NDTV said.

The heated conversation between the two stemmed from the constant fights the estranged couple had over their cafe 'For God's Cake'.

"I will go to your locality and create a scene. Then keep crying on the phone," she is heard saying.

Earlier, an audio clip of a heated phone call between the two had also emerged.

"Why are you calling me at 3 am? You have disgraced me and my family on multiple occasions. We did so much for you," Pahwa was heard saying.

In response, the man dismissed her grievances, saying, "All of this doesn't matter anymore. Just tell me what you want."

The clip also has references to the cafe, which had been closed some time ago.

The argument continued as the man and the woman debated the sharing of social media account passwords. The woman had also used abusive language.

Puneet's family members and friends have alleged that his social media account has been hacked. The allegation is being verified, the police said.

Some of his friends said Puneet was under acute pressure as his wife and in-laws were threatening him and his family members.

"Yesterday he called us and asked us to sit somewhere. He was very stressed as he was continuously getting threats from his in-laws. He was also under stress as they were threatening his parents too. This is the only reason he took such an extreme step," his friends told reporters.

Khurana allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in the Model Town area of northwest Delhi, an official said on Wednesday.

Puneet Khurana's death comes close on the heels of the death of 34-year-old Atul Subhash, a techie, who died by suicide on December 9 in Bengaluru following alleged harassment by his wife and her family. His wife and her family members were arrested in the case and their bail plea is set to be heard on January 4.
