New Delhi: After the Supreme Court rejected a bail plea of former Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia, the BJP on Monday took a jibe at the ruling Aam Aadmi Party of the national capital and at Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, saying that the chief minister will be next to be arrested in the excise scam case. Party spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said that the bail plea has been rejected 6 times and a matter of ₹338 crore has now come up.

“If you see the observation of the Supreme Court, not only has the bail plea been rejected but a money trail of Rs 338 crore has also been established. So this is not only an allegation now; it is now a quantitative submission of the Rs 338 crore money trail. Now Arvind Kejriwal’s government will have to tell the court where the money is,” Trivedi said at a conference at the party headquarters.

Trivedi said that a few days ago, Amit Arora, an accused in the liquor scam, had said that all the things happened in the presence of the Chief Minister.

“Allegations of corruption are continuously being established from the factual point of view, bail petitions are continuously being rejected. Yet, there is theft and then there is theft from above; that is now becoming the character of the Aam Aadmi Party,” Trivedi alleged.

On Monday, a bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and SVN Bhatti dismissed the bail application of former Sisodia in the Delhi excise policy scam case. Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on charges of corruption in the liquor scam on February 26 this year; on March 9 the Enforcement Directorate booked him on money laundering charges.
