Renowned playback singer Sonu Nigam recently performed at the Delhi Technological University where he halted the show midway as someone threw a 'vape' at the stage.
Reports said that stones and bottles were thrown at the singer while performing. However, the Kal Ho Na Ho singer issued a clarification that no stones were hurled at him.
Taking to his official Instagram account, he wrote, "Nothing like hurling of stones or bottles as mentioned in some media happened at DTU."
He, however, stated that a vape was thrown on the stage which hit someone from his team after which he requested the fans to refrain from such acts.
"There was one Vape thrown by someone on stage that hit Subhankar's chest and that's when I was informed about it. I paused the show and requested and reminded the collegians that the show will have to be abruptly stopped if something like that happened again," he said.
Fans usually throw items on stage, like gifts, flowers or letters for the artiste. Sonu Nigam was also 'hurled' with a 'pookie band' which he said was very 'pookie'.
He posted multiple pictures from the show, in which he can be seen donning a rabbit-ear head band, after which the crowd started cheering 'pookie pookie' for him.
'Pookie' is a slang term which is often termed as a cute nickname for someone.
"Learnt a new word at DTU - Pookie!" wrote the artiste in another set of pictures from the show.
Known for tracks Suraj Hua Maddham, Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin, Tumse Milke Dil Ka, to name a few, Nigam rose to fame in 1995 with his song Accha Sila Diya from the film Bewafa Sanam.
