UPSC aspirants' favourite "Ojha sir" has taken a leap and entered the world of politics after he joined the Aam Aadmi Party on Monday, months ahead of the 2025 Delhi Assembly polls.

Ojha joined AAP in the presence of party's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal who introduced him as "a renowned name in the field of education."

As Ojha began his political innings, he thanked Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia for giving him "the opportunity to work for education by joining politics."

Who is Avadh Ojha?

Avadh Pratap Ojha, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district is a prominent name among IAS tutors and enjoys a massive following on social media. Ojha is also a motivational speaker and has more than 20 lakh followers on Instagram.

Ojha completed his early education from Fatima School in Gonda. After failing to crack the civil services exam, he stepped into the world of UPSC teachers and soon became famous due to his unique style of teaching.

According to his website, Ojha has worked as a teacher in many coaching institutions, including The ABC Academy of Civil Service, Chanakaya IAS Academy, Unacademy and Barthkur IAS Academy. Following that, he established his IQRA IAS coaching centers. His training center is in Pune.

Ojha has showed keen interest in politics, as is quite visible on his social media accounts. Some of his statements on political leaders including Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi went viral on social media. He had called Akhilesh Yadav "a visionary leader who can become the prime minister of the country one day."

After joining AAP, Ojha expressed his desire to work for the upliftment of the education sector and said, "Education is such a medium which is the soul of the family, society and nation. Today, at the beginning of my political innings, I want to share this with you all if I had to choose between politics and education, I would definitely choose education. By joining politics, the development of education is my best objective."
