Mumbai: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued four notices to Air India (AI) for a series of violations related to multiple issues like cabin crew rest and duty norms, cabin crew training rules and operational procedures - a series of actions against the national carrier.
However, Air India said that it would respond to the notices.
The four notices by the aviation watchdog pertains to 29 violations.
Ever since the 12 June, 2025 crash of Boeing B787 Dreamliner aircraft bearing registration VT-ANB at Ahmedabad, shortly after it took off from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport for London Gatwick, the regulator has been issued several notices.
Acknowledging the receipt of notices, Air India said: "We acknowledge receipt of these notices from the regulator related to certain voluntary disclosures that were made over the last one year by Air India. We will respond to the said notices within the stipulated period. We remain committed to the safety of our crew and passengers.”
The DGCA has issued more than a dozen show-cause notices to Air India for various alleged safety and operational breaches after the Dreamliner crash.
The notices issued on 20 June, pertains to violations of cabin crew duty and rest regulations with respect to at least four ultra long haul flights — two operated on 27 April and one each on 28 April and 2 May, reports said.
