Countering claims of the Maharashtra government, the ministry said even though powers were delegated to the state government to clear some projects located within CRZ-II zone, it was withdrawn later for projects costing more than Rs 5 crore because state governments were misutilising the powers and permitting constructions in non-permissible areas.
