DMK asks govt to convene assembly session

Amid series of development in the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, the Opposition DMK led by its working president M K Stalin today met Assembly Speaker Dhanapal at the Secretariat and demanded him to convene budget session of house immeditely for looking into various issues related to the State.
 
The first interim assembly session of the Edappadi K Palaniswami government, which had won the trust vote House on February 18, began on March 15 with Finance Minister D Jayakumar presented the budget papers.
 
Though the brief Assembly session was over in few days the demands for grants to various departments was expected to take up in the House after R K Nagar Assembly by-polls.
 
After meeting the speaker, Stalin said, "I have asked the Speaker to convene the Assembly immediately to discuss farmers protest in Delhi and other issues with pertain to the State."
