An aircraft belonging to a private airline was grounded on its arrival at Kolkata Airport on Monday morning after suffering inflight engine failure.
The Kolkata bound aircraft belonging to Vistara Airlines took off from Chennai airport with 121 passengers on board.
A Vistara spokesperson said that the incident took place around 8.50 am, adding that the passengers were informed by the flight captain about the situation.
It also stated that Vistara aircraft designated as UK 733 experienced a technical malfunction in the right engine during descent towards Kolkata Airport.
“ The pilot followed the necessary procedures and landed safely at the Kolkata Airport. The aircraft has been grounded and is currently undergoing inspection to resolve the issue,” the official said.
