Engineer rams car into sleeping labourers

“The driver who was drunk has been identified as Simran Sodhi. He is a resident of Hauz Khas and was returning home with a female friend from a high profile club- F Bar at Ashoka hotel when the incident occurred at around 2 am,” a senior  police official said.

“He ran over two destitute men sleeping on the footpath. They sustained serious fractures and are now being treated at the Trauma Centre,” the official informed.

A senior police official said a medical test has confirmed that Sodhi was under the influence of alcohol. The woman who was in the car was let off after questioning, he said.
