He wanted his plea to refer his appointment to a five-judge Constitution Bench must be decided first before any final decision on his removal.

Thomas submitted that his representation to the President sent on March 16 requesting to refer the matter relating to his appointment as Central Vigilance Commissioner by a five-Judge Constitution Bench since it involved interpretation of the Constitution, be decided first before issuance of warrant.

In a representation sent through his counsel Wills Mathews, he also sought time for making submission before the President.

The president had on March 14 cancelled the appointment of Thomas as head of corruption watchdog in the country following the apex court verdict.
