Ex-Haryana cop faces molestation charge

M S Ahlawat, who retired as Inspector General of Haryana Police a few months ago, has been booked by the state police under various sections of the Indian Penal Code dealing with molestation, assault and criminal intimidation on the basis of complaint of a woman lawyer.

The lawyer, Harvinder Kaur, has alleged that Ahlawat had sexually harassed her and touched her inappropriately several times in his camp office eight years ago in 2002 when he was the superintendent of police of Yamunanagar district.

The SIT has been asked to expeditiously give its report on the allegations of the woman lawyer, a police spokesman said here.
