Who are the organisers of Kisan Mukti March?
Around 200 farmers organisations under the banner All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) to march in Delhi for two days. The AIKSCC include All India Kisan Sabha, Medha Patkar-led NAPM, Yogendra Yadav-led Jai Kisan Andolan, V M Singh's Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan and Raju Shetty-led Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghathan
When and where will the march take place?
It's a two day march beginning November 29. Farmers from across the country will march from four locations in Delhi— Nizamuddin, Bijwasan, Majnu Ka Tila and Anand Vihar— to Ramlila Maidan, where they will stay.
On Novermber 29, 'Ek Shyam, Kisan Ke Naam' (An Evening in the name of farmers) cultural evening in Ramlila Maidan will be held, the following day (November 30) farmers will march to the Parliament.
What are their demands?
Convene a 21-day special joint session of Parliament to discuss agrarian distress. Adopt two private members bill— The Farmers’ Freedom from Indebtedness Bill, 2018, and The Farmers’ Right to Guaranteed Remunerative Minimum Support Prices for Agricultural Commodities Bill, 2018— in the joint session. Hear farmers from inside the Parliament.
Who will join the farmers?
Under the banner 'Nation for Farmers', former soldiers fighting for One Rank One Pension, students, youth, artistes, techies, lawyers and others will join the march on November 30.
What is the programme on November 30?
March from Ramlila Maidan in the morning. Morning session on Parliament Street, farmers' leaders to address protesters. Post-lunch session, top secular Opposition leaders like Congress president Rahul Gandhi are likely to address the protesters and spell out their policies on farmers issues.
