A minor girl at Kollam district in south Kerala was sexually abused by her father and brother's friend.
The shocking incident came to light after the 15-year-old girl was found to be pregnant. On counselling by the child protection authorities, the girl revealed the sexual assault that she has faced.
She was hospitalised after she complained of health issues. On medical examination, she was found to be pregnant and the hospital authorities reported the matter to the police.
According to police sources, the girl said in her statement that her father sexual harassed her in their house since November last year. Afterwards, a friend of her brother also sexually assaulted her. The family is financially weak and to make matters worse, the father is an alcoholic.
Both the accused have been held by the police.
