Replying to a question from Chikkaballapur Lok Sabha member K Sudhakar in Lok Sabha the Minister said "Currently there is no insurance scheme for flower farming in Chikkaballapur district. The state government has provided information about this."

Since the launch of the scheme in 2016-17, a total of Rs 1.73 lakh crore claim amount has been settled to 19.68 crore farmers of various states including Karnataka for crop loss, the Minister said.

"Most insurance claims are settled by insurance companies within the stipulated time. However, the problem arose due to many reasons including delay in payment of claims, disputes between the state government and insurance companies, delay by the state government in payment of its share, and failure of insurance companies to depute sufficient staff. Now all the problems have been resolved," he said.
