Fog continued to inconvenience passengers at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) on Friday, with 62 flights being delayed in the capital due to bad weather.
Of them, 59 arrived late and the remaining departed late from IGIA.
Forty-nine other flights departed late, but no specific reason was cited by the authorities for this.
The delays were put under the “for other reasons” category. No flight was diverted or cancelled because of weather conditions. However, four flights departing from Delhi and three arriving were cancelled due to other issues, said an airport authority official.
Over 110 flights were operational using low-visibility procedures, through instrument landing systems. “Seventy flights were carried out under CAT-I and another 70 under the CAT-II category,” said the official.
The lowest visibility at Palam was till 50 metres from 2:30 am to 5:30 am, said a met department official.
Flight services are likely to be hit in the capital on Saturday morning as well, with the met office forecasting moderate to dense fog.
“The sky will be partially cloudy, but it will start clearing in the morning. The maximum temperature will hover around 17 degrees Celsius, and the minimum will be around 7 degrees,” said the official.
The maximum temperature on Friday was recorded at 16.4 degrees Celsius, and the minimum was 7.4 degrees. The maximum relative humidity for the day was 100 per cent and the minimum 67 per cent.
