Four security personnel including a Border Security Force (BSF) commandant were killed and two others sustained serious injuries when suspected Maoists triggered a landmine blast at Chitrakunda in Odisha’s highly naxal-infested Malkangiri district on Friday afternoon.
Three others killed in the incident include a BSF assistant commandant and an inspector of the state police.
Reports from the headquarters town of Malkangiri district said that a six member team of BSF and Odisha police were traveling on a jeep when a group of naxals ambushed the security personnel on a hilly road, using a landmine.
