The incident took place at Ningada village of Gadhada taluka, where Rohit Vasoya (4) who was playing in the field where his parents were working as farm labourers, fell into an open bore-well, they said.
According to police, fire officials from Gadhada and nearby towns rushed to the spot and managed to get the boy out of the bore-well alive after over four hours but he died a few minutes later.
A case has been registered and further investigation is on, police added.
