Notorious gangster Suresh Pujari, who is wanted in several cases of extortion and firing in Mumbai and elsewhere in Maharashtra and neighbouring Karnataka, has been repatriated to India.

Pujari was on the run for close to 15 years and faced Red-Corner Notices.

In October this year, he was arrested in the Philippines based on a tip-off from the Mumbai Police.

As soon as he landed at the Delhi airport, officials of the IB and CBI took his custody.

The Maharashtra Police escorted him to Mumbai, where he would face trial in a series of cases.

There are several cases against him which are registered in Mumbai, neighbouring Thane city, Kalyan, Ulhasnagar, Dombivli.

Incidentally, Suresh Pujari is a relative of underworld don Ravi Pujari, who was deported from Senegal, Africa, to India in February 2020 and is currently being investigated by central agencies and police forces in Karnataka, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.

Suresh Pujari separated his operations from Ravi Pujari around a decade ago and fled the country.

In Mumbai, Suresh Pujari will be questioned in cases registered by the Mumbai Police, Crime Branch-CID and Anti-Terrorism Squad.
