Superstar Rajinikanth on Monday kept the door to a possible career in politics ajar, telling his fans that he would join politics if “god decides”. Addressing his fans after eight years, he said, “Only god will decide my future.”
“Till now he is using me as an actor and (so) am acting. If he wants me to take up something else (politics), I will do it,” Rajinikanth told his fans.
Rajinikanth described his support in 1996 to the DMK-Tamil Manila Congress alliance as a “political accident”. “My fans helped them (DMK-TMC) back then to win,” he added.
He said corrupt politicians have turned politics into business and some have misused his name.
“Till now he is using me as an actor and (so) am acting. If he wants me to take up something else (politics), I will do it,” Rajinikanth told his fans.
