Government asks social media companies to check COVID-19 misinformation

The Centre has written to top social media companies to control spread of misinformation on COVID-19.

The government also asked the social media companies to start awareness campaign, remove misinformation from platform and promote authentic information on the virus.

The government advisory sent to all social media platforms including You Tube, TikTok, Twitter and Facebook.
