Police said that he was found to be sending sensitive information to a Pakistani who used the alias "Sahima" he had befriended on social media.

The ATS has arrested Dipesh B Gohel, a resident of Devbhumi Dwarka district, for spying on movements of Indian Coast Guard (ICG).

Police said that about about seven months ago, he befriended a woman identified as Sahima on Facebook.

The woman, reported to be working for Pakistan Navy, offered Gohel Rs 200 per day for sending pictures of ICG ships' movements and their names.

For the past three years, Gohel was working for ICG for repairing ships as a welder. He is alleged to have shared such information and gave bank detail (UPI) of his friend. Police is reported to have traced a total payment of Rs 42,000.

Police investigation of phone revealed that the IP address used in online communication between Gohel and Sahima was based in Pakistan. ATS said that they have been monitoring Gohel's movement for past many days.

Earlier in October, the ATS had arrested a person Pankaj Kotia from coastal town Porbandar for allegedly sending sensitive information to a Pakistani agent about vessels and jetty of ICG.

In this case, the accused was lured by an agent who used the alias Riya. Kotia was also working as a welder for ICG ships at Porbandar jetty. He was paid about Rs, 26,000 using UPI.
