The bliss of marriage lasted only a few days for a man in Gujarat when he was allegedly murdered just four days after his wedding. The hit on his life was orchestrated by his wife, who was reportedly in love with her cousin.
According to a report in India Today, Bhavik, a resident of Ahmedabad, married Payal from Gandhinagar. However, four days later, Bhavik was kidnapped and then murdered by three men.
The publication reported that Payal had orchestrated her husband's murder with the help of her cousin, Kalpesh, whom she had been in love with before the marriage.
On December 14, Bhavik went to pick up Payal from her parents' house. However, when he failed to arrive on time, Payal's parents informed Bhavik's father, who said that Bhavik had left long ago. Following this, Payal's family began searching for him.
During their search, they found a two-wheeler abandoned on the road, which belonged to Bhavik. Eyewitnesses claimed that a man on the two-wheeler had been abducted by three men.
Payal's family then contacted the police and reported the incident. The police grew suspicious upon learning that Bhavik had been kidnapped just four days after his wedding. They questioned Payal, and under pressure, she confessed that she had planned her husband's murder, the report added.
Based on the information provided by Payal, the police tracked down and arrested the three accused men. Kalpesh revealed that he, along with two accomplices, had kidnapped Bhavik, strangled him to death in his SUV, and disposed of the body in the nearby Narmada canal.
Police told the publication that while Bhavik was on his way to Payal's parents' house, she called him to confirm his location and then shared it with Kalpesh. She confessed that she had been in love with Kalpesh, but her parents had forced her to marry Bhavik. As a result, she decided to kill him.
Payal has been taken into custody, and the three main accused have been arrested too.
