Ahmedabad, DHNS: Congress MP and leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will visit Gujarat on March 7 and 8, a month ahead of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) session which is taking place in Gujarat after 64 years.

Congress in a statement termed Rahul's visit a month before the scheduled session as 'very important and symbolic'. It said that Rahul will be meeting local party workers, party chief, MLAs, former MLAs, among others leaders. He is also expected to address party workers.

The statement said he will be discussing the strategies for the 2027 Gujarat assembly elections.

While the AICC session is to be held on April 8 and 9, Rahul's visit a month before is said to be part of mobilising the party workers to show strength during the two-day session.

Meanwhile, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal arrived in Ahmedabad on Tuesday and held several meetings with the local leaders.
