The Kerala police have registered a case against the controversial Viswa Hindu Parishad leader Sadhvi Saraswati, under IPC sections 153 (A) - hate speech- and 295 (A) - outraging the religious feelings - over the controversial statement she made in the state.
In the inaugural speech of a VHP programme at Badiyadka in Kasargod on Friday, she reportedly asked the people of Kerala to behead the 'proponents of love jihad' and killers of 'mother cow'.
The 21-year-old firebrand Hindutva leader reportedly said: "We spend one lakh for mobile phone. Buy a 1,000 rupee sword too for our girls to kill the love jihadis."
"Behead in public, the people who kill mother cow," she added.
The programme was also attended by Badiyadukka Grama Panchayat president and Congress leader V N Krishna Bhatt.
Hailing from Chhindwara district in Madhya Pradesh, Saraswati is the president of Sanatan Dharma Prachar Seva Samiti.
She hit headlines for similar remarks earlier also.
Last year, she had said that she would request the Union government on death row for beef eaters.
In Panaji, she urged Hindus to stock arms to 'save women from love jihad.' The statements were made at the inauguration of an All India Hindu Convention, organised by the Hindu Janajagriti Samiti at Panaji in Goa.
In 2015, she told The News Minute that she would dedicate her whole life to the cause of the 'Hindu Rashtra', and would serve “in any manner possible”.
Badiyadka comes under the Kasargod Assembly constituency of Kerala. In the 2016 elections, it is one of the few constituencies in the state where BJP became the runner-up.
