An AN-32 aircraft of the Indian Air Force overshot the runway at the Mumbai airport on late Tuesday night.
There were no casualties - and the pilots and aircrew are safe.
The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and Defence Ministry have confirmed the incident.
"The aircraft had abandoned take-off view a technical issue and overshot the runway. The aircraft and crew are safe. A recovery team has arrived Mumbai and the aircraft will be cleared shortly, " a Defence Ministry spokesperson said.
"We confirm, departing IAF aircraft had runway excursion at 2339 hours at RWY 27, " the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport spokesperson said.
The aircraft was on way from Mumbai to Yelahanka in Karnataka.
Flight movements were partially affected.
