The executive committee of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has revoked the suspension of its chief executive and secretary Gerry Arathoon, and reinstated him to the post.

“It was unanimously decided by all members present that the disciplinary proceedings initiated against Arathoon will be dropped in view of the undertaking and assurance given by him. His suspension was revoked and he was reinstated in service with immediate effect. The order of the executive committee has come into force immediately,” a statement released on behalf of the council said.

The council had suspended Arathoon and initiated a disciplinary proceeding after allegations that he had promoted two textbooks authored by his wife Anita without taking the permission of the Council. “In the matter of disciplinary proceedings initiated against Arathoon, a representation dated October 8 was received from him by the members of the executive committee,” the press communique said.
