IIM-K gets international accreditation

Accreditation Projects Manager of AMBA, after a review of the campus, curriculum, operations and the stakeholders granted the accreditation, an IIM-K press release said.

“The panel has expressed its satisfaction and lauded the strong leadership of the institute, quality of faculty and the students, relevancy of the curriculum, industry interface, world class physical infrastructure as well as the high- level of commitment to the goals of the School by the senior staff,” the release said quoting director Prof Debashis Chatterjee.

The Association of Master of Business Administration’s is an organisation that accredits postgraduate business programes at international business schools.

It differs from the AACSB in theUnited States and EQUIS in Europe as it accredits specific postgraduate business programmes rather than entire schools.

The AMBA accreditation is an internationally recognised global standard for postgraduate business education.

The AMBA network currently includes 9,000 members from 88 countries. AMBA has accredited 168 business schools located in 72 countries.

Prof M K Nandakumar, Assistant Professor at IIM-K, has coordinated the AMBA accreditation project under the guidance of Chatterjee and Prof Sanal Kumar Velayudhan, Dean, Development.
