Bengaluru: As the India Meteorological Department (IMD) marks its 150th anniversary on January 15, 2025, it will celebrate its Foundation Day at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
Among the key events planned is a National Meteorological Olympiad (Met-Olympiad) to spark interest in weather and climate sciences among students.
Event details
Targeting students from classes 8, 9, and 11, the Olympiad will be conducted in two phases — state level (an online test to shortlist participants) and national level (a contest and workshop in New Delhi for state-level winners)
The one-hour online exam will consist of 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering meteorology and related sciences.
Technical requirements
Participants must ensure their devices (computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile) and internet connections are compatible with the test platform. The IMD said it is not responsible for any technical issues during the exam.
Registration, study material
The registration deadline is December 10, and students can access study materials, the syllabus, and sample questions on the official portal (Mausam).
