The Rashtrapati Bhavan serves as the official residence of the President of India and this is where foreign heads of states stay when they come to the country on an official visit.
However, for the first time, the Rashtrapati Bhavan is set to serve as the venue for a wedding, as per a report by Mint.
President Droupadi Murmu has given the nod to proceed with the preparations, but the guest list will have to be short and exclusive.
The person who will get this rare honour is Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officer, Poonam Gupta. The report states that President Murmu has been highly impressed by Gupta's performance and has thus arranged for the wedding ceremony to be conducted in the Mother Teresa Crown Complex within the Rashtrapati Bhavan premises.
However, there has been no official communication from Raisina Hills regarding the wedding.
