Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, along with four others, tragically died in a plane crash in Pune on January 28, 2026.

The incident took place when the plane, carrying 66-year-old Pawar and others, trying to land near Baramati.

Flight Radar data shows that the flight took off from Mumbai at 8:10 am and vanished from radar screens at around 8:45 am.

Pawar was en route from Mumbai to Baramati to address public meetings as part of his campaign for the upcoming zilla parishad elections on February 5 in the state.

According to a police official, five individuals were aboard when the plane went down at 8:50 am.
