Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday criticised opposition BRS leader K Chandrasekhar Rao for attending assembly sessions only twice in the past 15 months and challenged him to a debate on the loss suffered by the state in utilising Krishna waters.
Osmania University has issued a circular prohibiting agitations, dharnas, and demonstrations within its departments, colleges, centers, and administrative buildings.
Attacking the Congress government, BJP leader Ramchander Rao said: "There is an undeclared emergency in Telangana by the government. The government has directed the Osmania University authorities to ensure that no Dharna or gathering happens on the university campus. The university campus has been the hotbed of agitation, and it was students who helped carve out the state of Telangana... The university is doing it at the behest of the govt. The government want to suppress the students and their demands regarding employment and other things. BJP condemn such act of the govt..."
Union Minister Nityanand Rai on Sunday said that RJD, Congress will be wiped out from Bihar in next elections.
He said: "...Today there are some people in Bihar who are engaged in defaming Bihar, that is, the rule of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, who had made Bihar sick and kept it far away from development. RJD and Congress people are trying to defame Bihar. Bihar is on the path of development... employment opportunities are being found here and Nitish Kumar is implementing all the schemes of the central government... the people of Bihar are now fed up with 'jungle raj' and casteism, so in the coming days, RJD, Congress will be wiped out and NDA will form the government here with a huge majority."
On video of a policeman complying with RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav's instructions to dance at a Holi celebration, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said, "He thinks that his mother, father and brother are going to run the government, and this mentality should be forgotten. People have rejected Lalu Yadav's family." (ANI)
On grenade lobbed at Thakurdwara Temple in Khandwala, Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa says, "This is very sad. Punjab police were deployed for Arvind Kejriwal's security; about 200 vehicles were travelling with Arvind Kejriwal. Punjab police, which gives security to common people, has been deployed for the security of special people. Arvind Kejriwal, who calls himself a common man, has become so special that thousands of policemen are travelling with him. The environment in Punjab is not safe anymore..."
"It was only around February 24 to February 26 that I stepped into the Gujarat Assembly for the very first time.
On February 27, 2002, we were seated in the Assembly for the Budget session when the Godhra incident occurred. People were burnt alive. Against the backdrop of the Kandahar hijacking, the attack on Parliament, and the 9/11 attack, one can imagine how tense and volatile the situation was. It was a tragedy for everyone—everyone prefers peace.
"However, the perception that these were the biggest riots ever is actually misinformation."
On US President Donald Trump, PM Narendra Modi said in a podcast with Lex Fridman, "An event 'Howdy Modi' was organised in Houston. The stadium was full of supporters from the Indian community. We both delivered speeches, and he listened to me speak. I was on the stage, and he was down there. This is his magnanimity despite being the President of the United States.
"When I joined him down there, I asked him if he would join me in taking a lap around the stadium. We all know the security grid and protocol of the American President, but he readily agreed. Their security system was disturbed in a matter of moments. This was a touching moment for me, and I thought to myself that this person has courage. He takes his decision himself. Second, he had faith in me, and he came along. This emotion of mutual trust between us is so strong, and I realised it that day..
"When he was shot at during his election campaign, I could only think of and picture President Trump who walked with me in that crowded Houston stadium, and his undeterred resolve to live for America strengthened further. He talks about America First, and I talk about India First, so we have a good camaraderie."
Jairam Ramesh took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, "He who is afraid of facing the media in a press conference has found comfort in a foreign podcaster anchored in the rightwing ecosystem.
"And he has the gall to say that “criticism is the soul of democracy” when he has systematically gutted every institution that is to hold his Government accountable and gone after critics with a vengeance that no one in recent history has matched!
Hypo(d)crisy की कोई सीमा नहीं है!"
