On Supreme Court hearing pleas challenging Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said, "We have approached the court and presented our side. Let's see what happens in the Court...The biggest question is why are you rejecting Aadhaar Card, Ration Card, Job Card, MNREGA Card? People of Bihar still do not have documents. Election Commission is not issuing any clarifications. Why can't the Commissioners hold a press conference and clarify everything? Why are they causing confusion? What ego does the EC have? It feels as if the EC is acting like a party cell of the BJP."
On Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray and speculations around them, Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Anand Dubey said, "When both Thackerays shared the stage in Worli, it was purely a social stage. The biggest reason behind that was the honour of 'Marathi manus', speaking in their interest and speaking for the Marathi language. Both of them are tall leaders and head their political parties, so there will be politics. But the goal wasn't political. But since there will be a elections a few months later, if both Thackeray brothers come together on the same stage and contest elections, there will be a great 'aandhi' in Mumbai and neighbouring areas. 'Marathi manus' has been deceived by the BJP...Eknath Shinde has become a slave of Gujarat. So, Marathis have just one hope now - Thackeray brothers. They want to vote for them."
Siddaramaiah claimed that he would complete his five-year tenure as chief minister and brushed aside talks of him paving the way for his deputy D K Shivakumar to take over later this year.
"Income Tax Department scans everyone. Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde and I got notices. One must respond to the Income Tax Department. I was asked to submit a reply by July 9. I have asked for time, and we will submit a reply. We will face any inquiry. It's not anything political, and no one is trying to pressure us... I will not say that Shiv Sena is being suppressed. If anyone gets a notice, it means that the agency is doing its work...," said Shirsat.
"He should get 'Global Liar' award because he has told so many lies in 10 years. I think nobody has done this before...," said Congress leader Abhishek Dutt.
