56 nominations filed on Tuesday for Delhi Assembly polls
As many as 56 candidates filed their nominations on Tuesday for the February 5 Delhi Assembly elections, according to the Chief Electoral Officer.
The nomination process for the Assembly polls began on January 10.
AAP candidate Jitender Shunty files nomination wearing PPE kit
The Aam Aadmi Party's Shahdara candidate Jitender Singh Shunty filed his nomination on Tuesday wearing a PPE kit, to highlight his relief efforts as a frontline worker during the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the pandemic, Shunty handled more than 70,000 cremations and made dedicated efforts to ease people's sufferings, earning him the sobriquets "ambulance man" and "corona warrior".

Kejriwal to file nomination for Delhi polls today
Atishi had made it clear that she was just holding onto the CM chair for Kejriwal, who had refused to retake the seat after getting out from jail in the excise case, saying that he would only become CM if the people of Delhi wished so. Now, ahead of him filing nominations, the Modi govt has given the nod to ED to prosecute both Kejriwal and AAP leader Manish Sisodia in the excise case.

"Hidden no more, Congress’ ugly truth now stands exposed by their own leader. I 'compliment' Mr. Rahul Gandhi for saying clearly what the nation knows- that he is fighting the Indian state!," Nadda wrote on X.
