Leader of Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Mata Prasad Pandey has claimed that pilgrims visiting the Devi Patan Dham here will soon have to cough up a fee and accused the BJP of "profiteering in the name of religion."
The Devi Patan Dham here is one of the 51 Shakti Peeths.

"Ayodhya is being sold off. Land is being taken away from the poor and handed over to large industrialists. Big hotels are being built there, and extortion is taking place in the name of development. In South India, where the BJP has little presence, it is bringing people from there to temples for political and economic gains," he said.
"Today, we are releasing 'Kejriwal Ki Guarantee' for Delhi Assembly elections. 'Kejriwal Ki Guarantee' means surety. They (BJP) call their promises 'Sankalp Patra' or something else and everyone knows that their promises are fake. PM Modi (in 2014) had promised to give Rs 15 lakh... during an interview after few years... Amit Shah said it was all 'chunavi jumla'. Whatever the BJP, Congress and other parties announce during elections are just 'chunavi jumla'," says AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal
"When JPC was resumed today for clause by clause consideration, we raised the issue, how it can be done, in the absence of the documents which were promised, it was not supplied to us. On 19th, 20th, 21th, Lucknow, Patna, Kolkata committee made a tour, in the tour, what all the stakeholders deposed before the JPC, the chairman directed all the documents should be supplied to the members within seven days, seven days have gone, documents were not submitted to us, we are not able to read the perusing documents, without it, without going through the veracity of the evidence, how can they go for clause by clause consideration, we resisted, but on the contrary, he moved on our behalf, our amendments were moved by the chairman, headcounts were done by him, and announcement was done by him that it is negative, so he is a mover, counter, announcer, such a mockery held today."
Rahul Gandhi says, "Who is the owner of the privatisation of the education and health system? The Indian education system is a system of stamps, a system of certification.
Crores of people think that after such certifications, after paying lakhs of rupees to the billionaires, their children will get employment. This is a blatant lie. Your children cannot get employment in this country, no matter what they do. The billionaires have destroyed the employment system of the country.
"If students from IIT or IIM are not getting employment, how will you get it?"
Will taking a dip in Ganga get rid of poverty? Does it fill your stomach? I don't want to hurt anyone's faith. I am sorry if anyone got offended," Kharge said at Mhow
Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini says, "It is his (Arvind Kejriwal) habit and thinking to allege and then run away. I said that you (Arvind Kejriwal) sent your chief secretary and I will ask my chief secretary to check the quality of water at Sonipat from where it (Yamuna) is entering Delhi. He talks about Ammonia.
"He claims scarcity of water - but there is no scarcity; there is an issue in the distribution system. He cannot manage the distribution of water in 10 years - even though he promised it from the stage, still people are getting polluted water. He should work instead of making allegations. The people of Delhi have made up their minds and they will teach him a lesson."
"From the beginning, Mamata Banerjee wanted capital punishment for Sanjay Roy as this could save other accused. As long as Sanjay Roy is alive, this case cannot be closed," says BJP leader Rahul Sinha

"If you (people of Delhi) end up pressing the wrong button February 5, then this 24-hour electricity facility will end. If you want electricity for 24 hours, then press the button of broom (AAP's symbol)."
Delhi CM Atishi writes to the Chief Election Commissioner alleging that BJP Candidates are conducting registrations of women for their so-called scheme in which they will distribute cash to women and promise to give houses and land rights.
"These activities blatantly violate the MCC guidelines. I urge the Election Commission to take immediate action. If the Election Commission does not take concrete action within the next 24 hours, it will be assumed that the BJP's activities are considered permissible under the legal framework. In that case, we will also resume registrations for our Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana.", reads the letter
On implementation of UCC in Uttarakhand, Samajwadi Party Leader Maulana Mohibullah Nadvi says, "Our Constitution has guaranteed religious freedom to each and every citizen of this country.
"UCC will hamper this religious freedom and as far as the constitution is concerned, everyone knows that it gives us complete freedom to follow our personal laws- not just to Muslims, but to every community. All Muslim organisations have always opposed UCC because we think it will hamper religious freedom and it will hamper our personal laws. UCC should not be implemented and the religious freedom guaranteed to every community must be followed."
On Arvind Kejriwal's statement on the Yamuna River, BJP MP Sambit Patra says, "I cannot even believe that after being the Chief Minister for so many years, Arvind Kejriwal can give such a statement. The CM of one state is saying to the CM of another state that there is a conspiracy to kill the people of Delhi by poisoning the water.
"Arvind Kejriwal is realizing that he is also losing from New Delhi. He knows that Manish Sisodia, Atishi, all of them are losing. AAP is not forming the government and this is the reason why the frustration is clearly visible on Arvind Kejriwal's face and his statements. When India did a surgical strike on Pakistan, Arvind Kejriwal was asking for proof from India and today he is saying that one state of India is doing a poisonous attack on another state, what kind of statement is this? Arvind Kejriwal should apologize to the people of Haryana."
