Punjab CM calls attack on Kejriwal 'utterly shameful'

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday condemned the incident in which some liquid was splashed on AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi.

He said the alleged attack on the former Delhi chief minister was "utterly shameful."

On Saturday evening, Kejriwal was greeting people standing behind a cordon when a man approached him and splashed some liquid on him, following which the security personnel swiftly overpowered him.

Kejriwal and the security personnel accompanying him were later seen wiping their faces.

Mumbai: BJP leader Raosaheb Danve on Sunday said the name of Maharashtra's new chief minister has been finalised and a confirmation is awaited from the senior party leadership.

The people of Maharashtra know who will be the next CM, former Union minister Danve said without taking any name.

The oath-taking ceremony of the new Mahayuti government in Maharashtra will take place on December 5 evening at the Azad Maidan in south Mumbai and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend it, state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule said on Saturday. While there was no announcement yet on who would be the chief minister, BJP sources said Devendra Fadnavis, who has been chief minister twice and was deputy CM in the last Eknath Shinde-led government, was the frontrunner for the post.

And then try my best to bring all the parties together to resolve them...It's very sad that until now, the correct compensation, relief and rehabilitation has not been given to the victims of the tragedy (Wayanad landslide incident)..."

House gets adjourned even before discussion begins, says  Kharge

Speaking to presspersons on the early adjournment of Parliament after addressing a Maha rally in Delhi, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge said, "They (Govt) put allegation that we do not let the House run... So many people have been elected and are sitting in the Parliament. They want to have discussions but the House is adjourned even before that saying that we are disturbing. This is their responsibility and not ours..."

Mumbai: Shiv Sena MLA Gulabrao Patil on Sunday said the Eknath Shinde-led party would have won 90-100 seats in the November 20 assembly polls if Ajit Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party was not part of the Mahayuti.

The Mahayuti comprises the BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP. Pawar had joined the Shinde government in July last year and was made deputy CM.

"We contested only 85 seats. Without Ajitdada, we could have won 90-100 seats. Shinde never asked why Ajit Pawar-led NCP was inducted in his government," Patil told a regional news channel.
