Amid a walkout by the Opposition BJD and in the absence of suspended Congress MLAs, the Odisha Assembly on Saturday passed the Appropriation Bill, 2025, allowing the state government to spend Rs 2.90 lakh crore from its consolidated fund during the financial year 2025-26.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday unveiled schemes and laid the foundation stones for projects, worth over Rs 800 crore, in Bihar on the occasion of International Cooperative Day.
Shah launched schemes, comprising Rs 111 crore from the cooperative department and Rs 421 crore from the urban development and housing department.
He also laid the foundation stones for 133 police buildings, costing Rs 181 crore, and three road transport and national highway projects worth Rs 109 crore.
Shah also remotely inaugurated a makhana processing unit at the Fishermen's Cooperative Society in Darbhanga district.
"I request you all to form the NDA government for another five years, and we assure you that we will make Bihar flood-free. Floods will become a past in Bihar. We have provided financial assistance for the Western Kosi Canal. Under the leadership of PM Modi, cultural development will be done, and the heritage of Bihar will be respected."
In his first visit to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters after becoming the prime minister 11 years ago, Narendra Modi on Sunday described the Sangh as the ‘banyan tree' of India's immortal culture. Modi became the second sitting PM to visit the RSS headquarters in Nagpur. Atal Bihari Vajpayee had visited it in 2000 during his third term as PM, an RSS official said. This is also Modi’s third term in the top post. In a jam-packed schedule in Nagpur since early morning, Modi visited the Dr Hedgewar Smruti Mandir at RSS headquarters and paid homage to the founding fathers of the Sangh. He also visited Deekshabhoomi, where Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar embraced Buddhism in 1956. Modi also laid the foundation stone of Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre, a new extension building of Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute & Research Centre, named after late RSS chief Madhavrao Golwalkar. Speaking after laying the foundation stone of Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre, Modi said RSS volunteers are working selflessly in various spheres and parts of the country.
“The state goes to polls this year, and now people of Bihar has to decide whether they want Lalu--Rabri's ‘Jungle Raj’ or the path of good administration of PM Modi and CM Nitish. The development began in Bihar when the NDA government was formed in the state. Whenever PM Modi came here to gather votes for the BJP, people filled his bags with ‘lotus’. What Congress party couldn’t do here in 65 years, PM Modi did that in last 10 years.”

Speaking to ANI, Delhi AAP chief Saurabh Bharadwaj said, "A few days ago, when the issue of giving Rs 2500 was discussed, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said that AAP has emptied Delhi's treasury and left...Today, a full-page advertisement was published in all the newspapers in Delhi. This means that you (BJP) have a lot of money...Now, the BJP should tell whether they were in favour of ads or against it or their fight was only against AAP's campaigning..."
Speaking to media Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said, "...We made a mistake by going there (Mahagathbandhan) twice. Now we have decided that this will never happen again. This is wrong. Who made me the Chief Minister? Atal Bihari Vajpayee made me the Chief Minister. How can we forget?..."
Congress MP Mallu Ravi told ANI, "The Speaker did not give a chance to Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi to speak. Not only not giving a chance but also adjourning the House without any valid reason...They wanted Rahul Gandhi not to speak on the issues pertaining to many things like Kumbh Mela, Adani issue and many things, which they don't want people to come to know. They can stop Rahul Gandhi from speaking in Parliament, but they cannot stop Rahul Gandhi from speaking to the public in public meetings. People are very wise..."
“Union Home Minister Amit Shah is the hero of Gujarat’s ‘Jungle Raj’ and ‘Aatank Raj’. It’s BJP and JD(U) government in Bihar since 20 years. The data reveals the crime rate during these years. The law and order situation has deteriorated here,” RJD leader Shakti Singh Yadav told PTI.
On UP government issuing orders to shut down all meat shops on Chaitra Ram Navami and enforcing a ban on the sale of meat within a 500-metre radius of religious places during the nine-day festival, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav told PTI, "The foundational issues of the state are expensive electricity, unemployment, low business and more... This government's intention, focus and strategy is to divert the foundational issues and question it. That's why they bring up such spirituality issues. The truth is that one cannot become a 'Yogi' just by dressing up like one."
Speaking to ANI, AAP MP Sanjay Singh said, "...Yogi Adityanath should add two more things to this. Nearby liquor shops and restaurants where meat is sold should also be closed... Within 500 metres on the highways in Uttar Pradesh, you will find temples, KFC, McDonald and many shops. You should close all the shops. Why should liquor shops, KFC or McDonald's remain open?..."
On the statements of Union HM Amit Shah, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav told ANI, "When there is an election, big announcements are made, which are turned to mere statements after the elections. If he is saying PM Modi has given money to Bihar then he should tell in which sectors financial aid is provided...He has not highlighted what work has been done in the last 20 years..."
On the NDA meeting held at the residence of CM Nitish Kumar, Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal told ANI, "A meeting of the NDA parties was held at the residence of the CM Nitish Kumar...Several topics related to the elections were discussed in the meeting...In the coming days, NDA will move forward like the 'Panch Pandava'..."
Accusing BJP govt of halting 'farishtey' scheme, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj told PTI, "It is shocking that such a scheme, which saved many lives, has been stopped. Until 2021, around 10,000 lives were saved. In 2023, the BJP and L-G tried to halt the funding of this scheme. We moved to the Supreme Court, and then it was restarted. Now, right after forming the government, the BJP has stopped the scheme in its very first budget."
CPI leader D Raja told ANI, "Edappadi K. Palaniswami should understand that he can shake hands with Amit Shah and sit with PM Modi, but he should ask them Tamil Nadu is demanding exemption for NEET why the Union Government is centralising all the powers...In the name of national education policy, what they are doing..."
RJD MP Manoj Jha told ANI, "Now there is concern for Nitish Kumar...People are not trusting him. Even Union HM Amit Shah standing next to him does not trust him..."
He further said, "When he goes to Bihar, Union HM Amit Shah takes recourse to lies. He has no idea of what should be said in what perspective...I will definitely say one thing that whoever writes his script, there are many factual errors in it...There should be a discussion on fundamental things..."
"Wherever Congress has ruled, they have kept those states backward, leading to an increase in Naxalism. Whether it is Chhattisgarh or its surrounding regions, Congress has never worked for the development of these areas," said Rajasthan Minister Jogaram Patel
