Amit Shah said the Gujarat administration, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are engaged in providing quick help to the affected people.
"I spoke to Chief Minister @Bhupendrapbjp in view of the flood-like situation arising due to heavy rains in various areas of Gujarat and assured him all possible help from the Modi government. At least 68 people have died in Pakistan's Karachi city in Sindh province and neighbouring Balochistan province as torrential rains and flash floods battered the area, officials said on Monday.
As many as 63 deaths were reported in Quetta, Barkhan, Pishin, Kohlu, Bolan, Lorelai and Zhob areas in Balochistan province, while five people died in Karachi, the capital of Sindh province, as relentless rainfall battered the city submerging several areas and leaving many without power on the second day of Eidul Azha.
Tea crop affected in north India due to rains: TAI
The tea producing belt of north India, comprising the regions of Assam and North Bengal, has been battered by the severe rainfall, according to Tea Association of India (TAI), an apex body of tea planters of the country.
A spokesman of TAI said that the north India region produces 81 per cent of the country's total tea production.
The crop declined 11 per cent in Assam in June 2022 at 76.87 million kg from 86.37 million kg in the same month of previous year. In Barak Valley, the crop decreased to 4.26 million kg in June 2022 as against 4.26 million kg in the previous year same month of 2021 at 5.08 million kg, showing a decline of 16.14 per cent, the TAI said.

Light to moderate rains lashed Mumbai and its neighbouring areas on Monday morning, and there was no report of water-logging anywhere in the city, civic officials said. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate rainfall in the city and its suburbs over the next 24 hours, with a possibility of heavy showers at isolated places, they said. The island city (south Mumbai) recorded an average rainfall of 12.04 mm in the 24 hour-period till 8 am on Monday, while the eastern and western suburbs received 22.12 mm and 12.76 mm downpour, respectively, an official said. There was no water-logging anywhere in the city, hence no public bus service was diverted, officials said. The local train services, considered as the lifeline of Mumbai, were also running normally on the Central Railway and Western Railway corridors, they said.

Amarnath Yatra resumed on Monday after remaining suspended for a day due to inclement weather as another batch of over 4,000 pilgrims left for the base camps of the 3,880-metre high cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas, officials said.
The Yatra was suspended from Jammu due to bad weather conditions and no batch was allowed to proceed to the base camps in the Valley on Sunday.
