Ganeshan wrote on social media that he received the luxury car on Tamil New Year's Day April 14, as a surprise gift from his friend. He shared that the idea for the gift originated last year during his birthday, which he celebrated while attending his friend’s wedding in China. According to Ganeshan, his friend had organised a grand midnight celebration for him, including a birthday cake.

During the celebration, his friend asked him if he had any unfulfilled dreams. Ganeshan told her that he wanted to buy a BMW.

To his surprise, she replied, “Before your next birthday, you’ll be driving your own BMW.”

His friend surprised him well ahead of his birthday, on Tamil New Year's Day with the new car. “Your dream car is ready, come and take it,” she said in a text to Ganeshan.

Known for his work as a “China sourcing expert” and as the owner of a sexual wellness brand and adult toy factory, Ganeshan reflected on his journey in the post. He mentioned facing ridicule from friends and family for his line of work but believes that success is the best response to criticism.

Ganeshan posted pictures of himself receiving the BMW iX1, a vehicle he said costs around 2.5 lakh yuan (approximately ₹30 lakh) in China. In the comments, he clarified that while he conducts business in China, the friend who gifted him the car is not a business associate.

He also noted that the car will not be imported to India and will be used while managing his operations in China.
