The number of polling stations in the Budgam and the Nagrota assembly seats, where bypolls are due, have been raised to 173 and 150, respectively.
The draft roll for the constituencies will be published on Tuesday.
The Nagrota seat in Jammu district fell vacant after the death of MLA Devender Singh Rana. On the other hand, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's resignation from Budgam necessitated a bypoll. Abdullah had retained the Ganderbal seat.
"In line with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI), rationalisation of polling stations for the upcoming bye-elections in Budgam and Nagrota assembly constituencies was completed today," a spokesperson said.

Sunil Jakhar says, "Rahul Gandhi should not look far but around himself. If he believes that he is an idealist, it is a very good thing, but a person is known by his company. If you take corrupt people with you, then what will we do with such ideals? If the leadership of the Congress party wants to revive the party, then they should look within themselves..."
Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting will be held in Ahmedabad today
"This party Congress that concluded yesterday in Madurai adopted a resolution calling for the entire party to come forward to protect the LDF government in Kerala to do whatever is possible to ensure that there is a third time for which we have to win the confidence of the people. For this, the state government has to perform well, the LDF has to perform, and CPI-M as a leader has to perform with care and caution... We have a way to test the inclination of the people ahead of the assembly elections next year, that is, the local body elections, which are to be held by the end of 2025... Pinarayi Vijayan is the most widely recognised leader, and all state parties recognise that no leader can match Pinarayi Vijayan's stature..."

“We are not addressing the media gallery, this is a sensitive and emotional issue. The way the Waqf Bill has been passed in Parliament, it goes against the Muslim community. For the first time, there will be a non-Muslim member and an arbitrator will be the DC — this is a highly flawed bill. We may not be able to challenge the bill directly, but we can certainly voice our concerns. We believe the Assembly is the place where we should be allowed to speak. Today, once again, 25 Assembly members are bringing an adjournment motion. We hope the Speaker takes the sense of the House and allows us to have a debate in the Assembly.”
"The entire Congress family is coming to Ahmedabad for this big function. They are coming on the land of (Mahatma) Gandhi and Sardar (Vallabhbhai Patel)... we are very excited. The party's Gujarat cadre is charged up and we have got courage. Rahul Gandhi had challenged BJP in Parliament that the Congress will defeat them in Gujarat... so, in that context this AICC meeting has a great significance."
"The biggest concern is the Prime Minister's silence. The US is openly mocking our country, our stock market, our economy and the Prime Minister is silent. Canada, China, Taiwan, UK, European Union, all have responded in their own way or are preparing to respond. Here, we do not know, the opposition does not know, the people of the country do not know what the strategy is... The Prime Minister should make a statement to maintain people's confidence on the economy, stock market. Everyone should be taken into confidence."
JKNC MLA Salman Sagar says, "The MLAs represent more than 70 lakh people. They want there should be a discussion in the House for Muslims too...Our rights are being taken away every day, from 5th August (2019) till date. This was confined to Jammu and Kashmir until now. But now, this is being extended to Muslims across the country. To come back to power in 2029, BJP Government brought the Waqf Bill. This was done to show the Hindu community that how they are suppressing the Muslims and taking their land away...The Constitution of my country gives me the rights that I can dissent, I can raise my voice..."

On Waqf (Amendment) Act, Chairman of the JPC of Waqf (Amendment) Bill and BJP MP Jagdambika Pal says, "It has become the law of the land and will be implemented in the country. But the way the copy of the Bill was torn in Jammu and Kashmir and today, people of NC and PDP are creating a ruckus there and are fighting with the MLAs of BJP; this is unconstitutional. There is a race among political parties to file petitions in the Supreme Court but it will not stand in the court...If the government had wanted, it had a majority and would have passed the law directly in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The government said that we want discussion on this and it was done. People from all over the country are welcoming the law..."
Rahul Gandhi ji always leaves the country shocked and speechless with his 'knowledge.' In his statement, he said the Constitution was made in 1947 — he doesn’t even know that in 1947, the Constitution wasn’t made; only the proceedings of the Constituent Assembly had begun. The Constitution was finalised on November 26, 1949, and implemented on January 26, 1950... Rahul Gandhi is among those who don’t even know when the Constitution was formed, and yet he claims it is 1,000 years old.”
