New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday had a phone call with President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran and conveyed to him the resolve of the people of India to deal with the terrorists who carried out the recent carnage at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.
Modi conveyed to the Iranian President the anguish of the people of India over the killing of 26 people by the terrorists at Baisaran Meadow near Pahalgam.
Pezeshkian called Modi and strongly condemned the terror attack in J&K. He conveyed his condolences for the victims.
“Both leaders agreed that there could be no justification for such acts of terror, and all those who believe in humanity must stand together in the fight against terrorism,” Modi told Pezeshkian, according to Randhir Jaiswal, the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi. The prime minister shared with the president of Iran the anger and anguish of the people of India and their resolve to deal with those behind the terror attack and their supporters, firmly and decisively.
Modi also conveyed to Pezeshkian his condolences for the loss of lives in the explosion in Bandar Abbas Iran on Saturday and wished a speedy recovery for those injured.
The prime minister also received a call from President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of UAE, who conveyed condolences on the loss of lives in the barbaric terror attack in J&K. He strongly condemned the attack and expressed full solidarity and support with India.
