Koda ,arrested for allegedly swindling crores of money while at the helm of the affairs in his state, regularly attended Parliament session. He was escorted from Tihar jail to the Parliament and back to his cell.

It is understood that DMK leader and former telecom minister Raja and Congress MP Kalmadi, in their letters, asked Speaker of the Lok Sabha that they be allowed in the coming monsoon session. The session itself is delayed from July to August. The speaker is likely to give them a nod but court might just  play spoilsport, sources told Deccan Herald.

The argument against granting permission is that they can use the Parliament forum as a  favourable ground for themselves in their respective cases. “The speeches or statements made, could prejudice the sensitive cases,” one of the senior leader in the UPA said.

Besides the two, Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi, the daughter of DMK chief M Karunanidhi, is also lodged in Tihar jail. It would not be surprising if even Kanimozhi requests the speaker for a similar favour.
