The daughter of separatist leader Shabir Shah, who is lodged in Delhi's Tihar jail, has topped the CBSE Class XII exams in Jammu and Kashmir, scoring 97.8%.

Suma Shah, a student of Delhi Public School in Srinagar, scored 489 out of 500 marks thereby securing the highest marks among all CBSE affiliated schools in the state.

Her father was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in July last year in connection with over a decade-old money laundering case against him for terror financing.

The ED had also filed a charge sheet against Shabir Shah that had accused him of being in touch with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba founder Hafiz Saeed.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti congratulated Suma for her performance.
