Pakistani troops continued to violate the ceasefire along the LoC by resorting to unprovoked firing in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch and Kupwara districts, army officials said on Monday.
This was the fourth consecutive night that Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) and came amid heightened tension between New Delhi and Islamabad following last week's terror attack in Pahalgam.
China has called for a "swift and fair investigation" into the Pahalgam terror attack and expressed support for its all-weather ally Pakistan in safeguarding its sovereignty and security interests amid Islamabad's rising tensions with India.
The US State Department said on Sunday Washington was in touch with both India and Pakistan while urging them to work towards what it called a "responsible solution" as tensions have risen between the two Asian nations following a recent Islamist militant attack in Kashmir.

As per media reports, Turkey has extended its support to Islamabad and sent combat equipment. A Turkish Air Force C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft reportedly arrived in Karachi yesterday, carrying combat equipment.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka CM clarified yesterday that "No need for war means, if inevitable there should be war..., there cannot be a solution from war. I did not say no to demands for war."
When asked about Pakistan media playing up his statement, he said, "I did not say no to a war with Pakistan. What I said is that war is not a solution. Security should have been provided there, as many tourists go to Kashmir. Providing security is whose responsibility? It is the central government's responsibility. I said there was a failure."
The government is assessing the situation arising out of the closure of Pakistan airspace and working on solutions with airlines, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said on Monday.Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack that killed at least 26 people, Pakistan last week barred Indian airlines from using its airspace."We are assessing the situation... and working with airlines," the minister said.The closure of the airspace is resulting in longer flying hours for international flights, especially those flying out from north Indian cities, and pushing up the operational costs of airlines.In the current situation, the ministry is looking at the passenger aspects and ensure that safety is the key priority, Naidu said on the sidelines of an event here.

On CM Siddaramaiah's statement, BJP leader & LoP Karnataka Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy told ANI, "When terrorists intrude India and kill 28 civilians, should we simply stay silent?... It is the decision of the Central government and he has no role in this matter... All Congress leaders are politicising this issue, they should openly declare they are with Pakistan... We are ready for war if it comes to that... Pakistani media is interestingly portraying as a popular figure. Maybe he is planning to contest the next election in Pakistan! On the Indus Water Treaty, former Union Minister and Congress leader Saifuddin Soz told ANI, "I don't think that India should go that far. Because it is a treaty, it has worked well even during the wars. It offers an advantage to both India and Pakistan. What will we do with the water that is available? It will submerge Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir altogether. Water should flow down to the sea through its own course. I have a feeling we must not go that far."
On Pahalgam Terror Attack, former Union Minister and Congress leader Saifuddin Soz told ANI, "...Every Indian should adopt the line that the Prime Minister has adopted...If Pakistan says that it is not involved. Let us accept that argument for a time and we shall ultimately go by our investigating agencies, and they will know better...India and Pakistan are two neighbours. Neighbourhood cannot be changed whatever you do. Ultimately, what will prevail between India and Pakistan is the dialogue. Dialogue and discussion. No military solution, no arms, no sword. Nothing will work..."
On the Indus Water Treaty, farmer leader Naresh Tikait told ANI, "This is a wrong decision. The treaty should have continued. We are against this. We are farmers and every farmer needs water."

So I thought that Kashmir is mine and this country is mine, so why should I not go there, I will definitely go to Kashmir and I will have to come here and tell this to the people...so I want to tell the rest of the countrymen that we should come here because if we do not come, the objective of the terrorists will be successful. We cannot let them win. This is the first time that they have sent a message or threatened the entire country and the world from Kashmir that you people should not come here. So it is not possible that 6 people will come and threaten 140 crore people. We will not be afraid...I will appeal to everyone to definitely come here."

Union Minister Chirag Paswan says, "At a time when the country is facing such attacks, it is very important to stay united. The opposition also has a big role in this...The country needs to stay united to give a befitting reply to those behind the attacks..."

On his statement on the Indus Water Treaty, Farmer leader Naresh Tikait told ANI, "...The farmer knows the worth of water...My statement was presented distortedly...I express regret and I should not have made such a statement...The entire nation is united...There must have been a lapse from the government..."
Several Pakistani nationals reached the Pakistan Nationals Registration Office, Special Branch of Delhi Police for enquiry and to get their exit forms processed.
A Pakistani national, Samreen, told ANI, "I have been asked to go back. What is my fault, and why am I being punished? I came to India in September and got married in October. My long-term Visa is pending. I have to leave tomorrow. Those who don't have a long-term Visa are being asked to leave the country...Whatever happened in Pahalgam is absolutely wrong. It should not have happened, but it is not our fault..."
