Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted a series of raids across Kashmir on Tuesday in connection with a terror conspiracy linked to the killings of two non-local workers last year.

An official confirmed that the raids targeted several locations, including the residence of a business family from Sopore in Srinagar, and five other sites.

The raids are related to the February 7, 2024, shooting of two workers from Punjab—Amritpal Singh and Rohit Masih—in the Shalla Kadal area of Srinagar. The attack was allegedly carried out by militants from The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

Following the attack, the NIA filed a chargesheet in August 2024, naming four individuals, including a Pakistan-based handler of LeT. As part of its ongoing investigation, the agency had previously attached property belonging to Adil Manzoor Langoo, a key suspect linked to TRF.

Other individuals named in the chargesheet include Ahran Rasool Dar (alias Tota), Dawood, and the Pakistan-based Jahangeer (alias Peer Sahab).

Since early 2017, the NIA has carried out hundreds of raids in Kashmir in connection with alleged terror funding, fidayeen (suicide) attack and other terror attack cases and the agency has arrested and questioned dozens of people in the last eight years.
