High alert after terror attack in J-K's Pahalgam

Thiruvananthapuram: While a Kochi native was among those killed in the Pahalgam terror attack, three judges of Kerala High Court had a narrow escape.
N Ramachandran of Edapally in Kochi was reportedly killed. He had gone for a Kashmir tour from Kochi on Monday along with his family members.
Sources in Kochi said that Ramachandran was accompanied by his wife, daughter and grandchildren.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan expressed grief over the death of a Malayali. He said in a statement that steps would be taken for the safe return of his family members.
Around five Malayalis who went to Kashmir were also reported missing in Pahalgam. The information was received at a help line opened by the Kerala government agency NORKA-Roots. The information will be shared with authorities in Kashmir, said NORKA Roots chief executive officer Ajith Kolaserry said.
Three judges of Kerala High Court, who went on a tour with family to Kashmir, had a narrow escape as they returned from Pahalgam to Srinagar a few hours ahead of the terror strike on Tuesday. Judges Anil K Narendran, G Girish and P G Ajithkumar, who are now in Srinagar, are planning to return on Wednesday.
Four MLAs from Kerala and some officials of the Kerala Legislative Assembly reached Srinagar on Tuesday as part of a legislative committee meeting. "We are in Srinagar. Here security has been tightened and we are remaining in our rooms," Congress MLA T Siddique told DH over phone. Actor-turned CPM MLA M Mukesh, IUML MLA K P A Majeed and CPM MLA K Ansalan are the other MLAs from Kerala in Srinagar.
